NowhereSomewhere is a 4 speaker diffused surround sound composition and 2-screen film installation inspired by Morris’s utopian novel News From Nowhere. The work explores resonances between Morris’s vision and Organiclea, a food growing co-operative based in Waltham Forest.
The composition evolved from investigations using field recordings made at Organiclea, recorded over a number of months on-site, utilising a custom designed quad microphone array, contact mics and geophones to capture the sounds of the earths movement created by volunteers working the land.
